The company was founded in 1935 by August Thiele. With only 8 employees chains were even welded in forge. Later on automatic bending and welding machines facilitate the hard physical strain. In the fifties THIELE began with the production of chains for the mining industry. The stainless steel (23 MnNiMoCr 54) generally used for high-performance chains has been invented by THIELE engineers. All heavy mining-chains have been designed and introduced by THIELE. The development of rated sizes of 22 to currently 48 mm for mining-chains has also been carried out by THIELE. |

At the end of the sixties Schlieper and Nordland have been taken over. Therefore the product range was extended by heavy anchor chains and snow chains. |
